This multi-faceted value-added service comprises of SMS, Interactive Voice Recorder (IVR), a lottery reward scheme and a free printed farming business planner (farm book).
M’chikumbe 212 is the new shortcut for the Agriculture content on 321. The product will be accessed through a unique short-code 212 or by dialling *212#. Unlike, the 321service where information is provided in monologue, the 212 service offers information in dramatized and dialogue format, providing greater engagement with farmers. In addition, users are able to access the first 3 calls for free each month and thereafter will only have to pay MK40 on the forth call for unlimited access for that month. Once registered, a farmer will have information specifically tailored to suit their preferences at any time via the Interactive Voice Recorder (IVR), by choosing any crop which they prefer to be receiving weekly SMS messages on.
