3-2-1 Service is a national on-demand public information service platform for mobile phone.
The 3-2-1 Service is multi-sectoral and expandable. At the moment, the platform includes information on health, agriculture and gender topics, and over time it may be expanded to include other sectors related to governance, education etc. depending on user demand and the interest of partners.
This service is there to help Malawians have access to vital information on their phones regardless of their social-economic status.
This information can be accessed in three different ways; Interactive voice recorder, Short Message Service and Unstructured Supplementary Service Data with each channel working as explained below;
Dial 321 and listen to the instructions on the call. Each customer will have 8 free calls to the short code free of charge every month. From the 9th call onwards, customers will be charged a fixed cost of K15 per call.
Customers will access the service on SMS free of charge. Customers will be required to send various key words to 321 to access the service.
Customers will access the service on USSD free of charge. Customers will just have to dial *321# to use the service on USSD.
