Airtel Sierra Leone Celebrates Day of the African Child with Their 50 Adopted Ebola Orphans

AIRTEL CELEBRATES DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD WITH THEIR 50 ADOPTED EBOLA ORPHANS

Airtel Sierra Leone under its Touching Lives programme yesterday reaffirmed its commitment to the SOS Village administration as they handed over a welfare fee for the 50 Ebola orphans that were adopted after the Ebola scourge.

The Acting Managing Director, Oladapo Olasope made the donation at the Airtel headquarters office in line with the commemoration of the Day of the African Child.

He said, “We want to give them the chance to succeed in life by providing the enabling environment for them to actualize their dreams”.

Madame Leila Labor, the Regional Director of SOS Village expressed thanks and appreciation to Airtel for catering for the children when they are in need. “The trauma the children had undergone is over as Airtel has provided them the requisite care to transform their lives” she added.

The kids come from all three homes from across the country to spend a day with management and staff of Airtel as agreed in the MOU. Staff brought in gifts such as learning materials, clothes, shoes, bags and toy for the kids. With humility they embraced the children as they danced and had a fun filled day.
