Airtel Tanzania - Airtel FURSA Reaches Out To Dar Orphanage Centers

Dar es salaam, June 28, 2016: - Airtel Tanzania through its Corporate Social Responsibility program Airtel FURSA has donated various food stuff to two orphanage centers in Dar es Salaam region.

 
The Airtel Iftar donation is the extension of Airtel’s community activities with an aim to support under privileged children during the holy month of Ramadhan. The donations are targeted to support 10 orphanage centers in different parts of the country. Today’s Airtel FURSA Iftar donations will be presented to Irishad Islamic center in Kinondoni District and Huruma Islamic center in Ilala District.
 
Speaking during the handover event held at Airtel HQ, Airtel Managing Director, Sunil Colaso said ‘’ This year we are happy to reach more than 500 children as they accomplish their desire to fast during the holy month of Ramadhan. Our aim is to touch these children’s lives and make them feel a part of our Airtel Family.”
 
Speaking on behalf of the Huruma Islamic center orphanage center Hamisa Mwinyipembe said” We truly appreciate the immense support we have received from Airtel and hope that other institutions can also come on board to help these children who need the support not only during the month of Ramadhan but throughout the year. We believe Airtel has set an exemplar for people in groups or individuals to reach out to us and offer their support”.
 
This year’s if tar donation also came from Airtel FURSA beneficiaries who contributed items made through their business supported by Airtel.
