Airtel Zambia Donates Books to Taonga Community School

Lusaka, Zambia – May 30th 2016.

Airtel Networks Zambia Plc has donated over 2,000 exercise books and pencils to Taonga Community School. Speaking at the donation held at the school situated in the outskirts of Lusaka, which caters for 526 children, Airtel Networks Plc Head of Corporate Communications, Mrs. Yuyo Kambikambi said the organization focuses on schools with vulnerable children.

“One of our key focus areas as Airtel is Education because we believe that once you educate a child, you are making the future of that child and the country they live in so much better. We understand that education helps in bringing out the full potential of any human being, more so at an early stage in their lives,” said Mrs. Kambikambi.

Receiving the books and pencils on behalf of the school, Headmaster, Mr. Musonda Lombe said “This gesture has come at a time when Taonga Community School has been struggling. We expect more children to start coming to school as they have not had anything to write in because most parents cannot afford to buy books”.
