The Kiromo Primary in Bagamoyo has seven dilapidated classrooms and 80 percent of the children in the 7-13 years age group have to sit on the floor.  There is one course book for every 70 children.  There is no accommodation for teachers.

The Ministry of Education advised of several priority schools for adoption with Kiromo at the top of the list.  The school met all the selection criteria including the distance from the road to the school.

Most of the villagers depend on fishing and farming pineapples and cassava for income.
