Me2U


"Me2U" is an airtime transfer service that is designed to enable prepaid customers share airtime (credit) on their Airtel Lines with their friends and families who are also on Airtel as frequently as they desire, irrespective of location and time.

“Me2U” can be accessed Via USSD short code *557# or Sim Toolkit on the menu of your phone.

How to transfer Airtime via STK

  • From the Airtel Menu on your SIM, select Airtel Services
  • Select Me2U
  • Send airtime credit
  • Enter Amount
  • Select option to enter Phone Number or choose the Number from your address book
  • Confirm the transaction
  • Enter PASSWORD
  • Send

How to transfer Airtime via *557#

  • Dial *557#
  • Select option 1 (to send Airtime)
  • Enter Amount
  • Enter Number
  • Confirm transaction
  • Enter password
  • Send

In any case you will receive an SMS confirmation for the transfer. The person receiving the transfer will also receive an SMS confirmation.


How to change Password via STK

  • From the Airtel Menu on your SIM, select Airtel Services
  • Select Me2U
  • Change Password
  • Enter Current password
  • Enter New password
  • Confirm new password
  • Send

How to change Password via*557#

  • Dial *557#
  • Select option 2 (Change Pin)
  • Enter Old pin
  • Enter New pin
  • Confirm new Pin
  • Send

In any case you will then receive an SMS confirmation for the PIN change.


Me2U rules

  • Airtime cannot be transferred from Airtel customers to other networks.
    Airtime transfer is On-Net only (Airtel to Airtel)
  • Airtime transfer cannot exceed the amount of credit available on the transferring customer's account.
  • Any amount between 20Gp and GHC100.00 can be transferred.
  • Maximum amount to be sent per transaction is GHC 100.00
  • Minimum amount to be sent per transaction is GHC 0.20
  • Maximum amount to be sent per day and per customer is GHc100.00
  • Each Customer is expected to change his default Password (1234) to a specific desired password.
    The password is a four digit number.
  • Customers will NOT be charged for PIN changes and enquiry SMS, as well as failed Me2U transactions.
  • All transactions are irreversible. Airtime once sent cannot be retrieved by the sender.
  • The amount of airtime transferred is deducted from the sender's account only after the transaction has been successful.
