Pitch Night

pitch (verb):
To try and convince someone to buy or accept something.

Background

You probably already know that the Government of Rwanda has a plan to transform the country into a knowledge-based economy. As a part of this plan, the Government approved a plan known as “SMART Rwanda”, which highlights the role of innovation and entrepreneurship to improve the country’s economy.

We know that you have great ideas, and the motivation to put them into action. That’s why UNICEF and Airtel, in coordination with the Ministry of Youth and ICT, are partnering up to challenge you to think of solutions for some of Rwanda’s challenges affecting youth, especially related to education, health, and the environment.

So we’re giving you “Pitch Night” – a unique opportunity to present your idea for a project that will improve the lives of Rwanda’s youth. We want to help you develop your idea into results; we want your most innovative and impactful ideas.

Our Pitch Night event will bring together young entrepreneurs, innovators, prospective investors, partners and the Government. We want to connect emerging entrepreneurs and innovators – like you – to potential investors and partners so you can transform your dreams into tangible projects.

So get ready for Pitch Night 2017 on May 4th. We’ll be there… Will you?

How does it work?

As an innovator and entrepreneur, or as a group of three (3) or less, submit your application by Thursday, April 6.
